1. Information We Collect
Gyro0 collects only the minimum necessary information required to operate university hackathons and competitions:
- Account Credentials: Full name, university email address, and optional avatar URL when logging in via email or Google SSO.
- Academic Identifiers: College / University Name, College Enrollment Number (Roll Number), and unique Gyro0 UID (
GY-XXXX). Enrollment numbers are used exclusively by faculty coordinators to verify college student status and are never published publicly. - Public Leaderboard Anonymity: Public event pages and leaderboards display only Team Names and Leader-assigned Member Nicknames/Aliases (e.g.
Hacker Alpha). Student personal contact details and roll numbers are strictly hidden from the public. - Competition Data: Team names, track selections, GitHub code repository links, demo URLs, and project descriptions submitted during an event.
- System Logs: Timestamps of chat messages and project submission updates to enforce competition deadlines and anti-spam rate limits.
2. How Your Data is Used & Protected
We enforce strict PostgreSQL Row-Level Security (RLS) at the database layer. Your data is used exclusively for:
- Enabling faculty coordinators to manage team rosters and export accreditation documentation (NAAC/NBA).
- Allowing appointed judges to review and score project submissions via secure rubrics.
- Delivering real-time competition announcements and group communication.
- Zero Commercial Data Selling: We do NOT sell, rent, or monetize student or coordinator personal information to third-party recruiters, advertisers, or data brokers.
3. Data Storage & Intellectual Property
All code repositories, pitch decks, and intellectual property submitted by student participants remain 100% the property of the students and their respective teams. Gyro0 claims zero ownership over participant inventions.
Data is stored securely on encrypted cloud infrastructure with daily backups and strict cryptographic hash validation.
4. User Rights & Data Deletion
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP), users may request export or complete deletion of their profile and historical event participation by contacting the platform administrator or department coordinator.
